Ginpahayag ni resigned officer-in-charge Department of National Defense (DND) Jose Faustino Jr. nga nagbiya sya sa pwesto agud proteksyonan ang reputasyon sang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Suno sa retired military general, nag-sumiter sya sang “irrevocable letter of resignation” sadtong Enero 6, matapos nanumpa ang si General Andres Faustino bilang bag-o nga Chief of Staff sang AFP.
“With the utmost respect, I submitted my irrevocable letter of resignation to the President, His Excellency Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., on Friday, January 6, 2023, after learning only from news and social media reports that an oath of office of the new Chief of Staff, AFP had taken place at Malacañang,” suno kay Faustino nga anay Chief of Staff man sang AFP.
Gindayaw man ni Faustino ang AFP bilang “an institution that is loved, trusted, and respected by the Filipino people” kag “an upright organization that is professional, highly capable, and committed to protecting our country and people from all threats, whether foreign or domestic.”
Iya man gindayaw ang tanan nga soldado, airmen, sailors, kag marines nga naghatag sang high regard sa honor, service, and patriotism.
“Thus, fully cognizant of the selfless sacrifice and courage of our troops and civilian human resources, I cannot allow the AFP’s reputation to be tarnished, maligned, or politicized. I assure everyone that I will always hold the AFP in high esteem, which its men and women have painstakingly earned” suno sa paathag ni Faustino.
Nahibaluan nga si Faustino ang ginbuslan ni retired Philippine Army General Carlito Galvez bilang tiglikom sang DND.
Si Galvez ang nagserbe man bilang Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process sa Duterte administration, kag nangin COVID-19 Vaccine Czar.
